Wherein we talk about food hugs.

On Wednesdays, I’m going to share about food. I have high hopes that I can do this on the regular. I’m hesitant to call it a series, because oh my gods the commitment of that kind of thing. I do have plans to do it on the regular this year, though.

I’m no food blogger, but oh boy am I ever the food enthusiast. I already share what I’m eating and drinking a lot. One might be able to say I over share such things. There probably isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t snap a picture, or make a tweet about what I’m sipping and noshing. It makes sense that I should share here a bit more, too.

Today, I share my latest snack invention: Fancy Chocolate Raw S’mores Bites. (A terrible name. See? Not a food blogger.) Hopefully I’ll get better with naming my bites over time. Or this can be that thing we laugh about together. On Wednesdays, Nik completely flubs up naming otherwise delicious bites.

One of life’s most precious bites is a good ol’ campfire s’more. Nothing feels like a cool hug on a warm summer night like a campfire s’more. It’s like when your best friends laugh at you with the deepest sympathy. It’s comforting and necessary for life’s survival. Life would be so much harder without campfire s’mores.

Well, it’s January. And we don’t have a fireplace. I know, sad violins. It’s okay though, I’ve come up with a really great place holder for the campfire s’mores. Let me share…

Over xmas, my hubs went and put a Chuao Potato Chip bar in my stocking. It’s milk chocolate (and I’m usually a dark chocolate monster) with kettle cooked potato chips mixed into it. It’s also a little crunchy, which I think makes up for the missing crunch from a burned marshmallow. Full Disclosure: I use a spread of marshmallow creme. Don’t judge, I almost never use processed anything (and I had some leftover from the holidays). Oh, and naturally, old fashioned no-nonsense graham crackers.

Fancy Chocolate Raw S’more’s Bites:

1 graham cracker
1 piece of Chuao’s Potato Chip Bar (just enough to cover your square)
1 heaping tablespoon of marshmallow creme

Break cracker in half, spread marshmallow creme on one side of cracker, place piece of chocolate bar atop the creme, place other side of cracker creating a sandwich. Slowly take a bite, enjoy those crispy pieces of potato chips, and try your very hardest not to snarf the rest in a single bite.

You’re very welcome, friends. You’re so very welcome.

PS. Plus, this bite pairs really wonderfully with iced coffee per usual, per everything in my life.

  1. Amazing ideas – food sharing and raw s’mores. And the podcasting, too, way to stretch and grow yourself!
